Taxonomy
Noctuelia sp. 1 is a single unnamed specimen in the Schulze Coll. from Sabah (PHS). A generic revision of Noctuelia is probably required as members of the N. tapsusalis group are visually very different from this purple-brown and yellow N. dichroalis group.
Description
The wing bases are a marbled purple brown and black. The wing margins are mainly yellow.
This species was previously placed as Noctuelia, though that genus was found to be a junior synonym of Cynaeda.
