The generic concepts represented by Trichophysetis (Meyrick 1884: 287) and Hendecasis Hampson, (1896: 140) are uncertain.

Description

A very distinctive delicate pale cream and reddish suffused moth. The wing shape and lineation distinguish it. The Jasmine Budworm. P312 In the HSB BRL morphoseries. Schulze (2000) Taxon #661.

Differs from Hendecasis sp. 1 and H. Hampsoni which have pointed FW apices.

The specimen in the Schulze Collection looks very different to the specimen in the Genting Tea Estate Collection (W. Malaysia) and may be mislabeled.

Life History

The ‘jasmine budworm’. A pest of Jasminum sambac and in fruits of J. meyeri-johannis & J. fluminense (Oleaceae) (Copeland et al., 2004).
